We have engaged Rulester to aid our efforts to identify patients most at risk for the complication of Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT). The predictive software produces comparative analytics on the potential next steps which the clinician can then evaluate. The initial pilot performed at the Hospital produced significant results. As a result, we are now rolling out the Rulester platform hospital-wide. We are also evaluating the use of other predictive platforms created by Rulester, including the identification of patients at risk for slip & fall and patients at risk for readmission within 30-days of discharge. Our work so far with Rulester confirms that the use of predictive models built on information harvested from regression analysis of patient populations can easily be deployed to advance clinical practice and patient safety in the acute care hospital setting.
